What we call a triple crown!
We were trolling a Gibbs Trailhead spoon behind a bright green flasher at 75ft on the downrigger in 100ft of water at Otter Point just after noon, when the bite finally came on.
Anchored up for Halibut but didn't have any strikes, 3 nice Dungeness Crabs in the traps on the way in.
Paul and Jean Marc had a great time limiting out on Pink salmon.
Pulled 4 nice Dungeness Crabs out of the traps on the way in. Picked the guys from the Prestige Hotel dock, where they were staying, and headed back out to Secretary Island.
They are catch and release only until August 1st when we will be allowed 1 Chinook salmon per person per day not over 80cm long.
Another great 2 day adventure, this time with Radoslav and his wife Nina from the mainland.
Had some nice Dungeness Crabs in the traps on the way in.
Plenty of Salmon here in Sooke . TOP. Bob fished with Doug, Mike, Jim and Mark for Halibut. Sunny morning with low winds, lots of smaller Spring salmon around.

Very slow for Springs, went over to the Bluffs area and trolled up some Cod and pulled some Crabs out of the traps on the way in. The boys had fun landing another 2 Halibut caught within minutes of each other at slack tide, in deep water, on Herring. Full Day Charter
We trolled up our limit of Cod and trolled over Secretary Island to look for some salmon we could keep. Early 06:30am departure from the dock, we dropped Crab traps and ran out to the salmon spot. Played 5 or 6 Springs that didn't make it to the boat.

Landed 3 Hali in total on Herring and Octopus before 2pm. Dropped 2 Crab traps in the harbour. We did manage to find one nice hatchery Coho salmon. We did land 4 big Pink salmon on a green and white Gibbs Skinny "G" spoon. Great flat warm day for the boys first trip out of Sooke.

When we do catch Chums in Sooke, its usually near the harbour mouth, on anchovy, and late in the season.This was a particularly nice fish. Full Day Charter
We trolled Pesca and Peetz spoons West of Otter Point early morning. Overcast skies and no rain made trolling very comfortable. Fished with Bob, Mark and crew off Otter Point and West for Spring salmon for a full day.
Plenty of Salmon here in Sooke. for Salmon, Halibut and Crab for a full day, leaving the dock at 7am.

Fished with Steve and Tom for Spring Salmon trolling the Sooke Bluffs briefly before carrying on to Otter Point.
Departed Sooke Harbour Resort and Marina at 6:30am. Francois took his wife Mami fishing for bottom fish in Sooke on one one of our winter "specials". Nailed a good one mid harbour mouth, mid morning. 2Reel2 skipper Mike fished with Dave and Simone and their crew for salmon and Cod landing a beautiful salmon while jigging for Cod off the Sooke Bluffs in 80ft of water. The Pink salmon were hitting really good at 70ft on the downrigger, using small pink hootchies/squirts tied 18 inches from the flasher. Trolling the bottom we picked up 2 Spring salmon, 1 at about 12lbs. No Halibut bites after we switched to bottom fishing, but we did catch and release a nice Lingcod which appeared to be around 13lbs. Evening salmon fished with Mike and Laura at Otter Point, trolling in 100 to 115ft of water with the gear at 85ft on the downrigger. Great day filled with action. Fishing our 2 days fishing, 2 nights accommodation packages at Sooke Harbour Resort and Marina with both boats. They landed 2 nice Chinooks and 2 hatchery Coho salmon. Getting to around noon, John had a big pull down on his rod that stuck hard, we were into a big one. Salmon were being caught all around us as well. The boys landed 2 nice Halibut 30 and 40lbs on salmon. Wind was down but tide was ebbing hard out of the harbour making the water lumpy. Trolled South out into about 550ft of water with the gear at 60/70ft on the downriggers. Great day on the water, pulled a Dungeness and a Red Rock Crab out of the traps on the way in.

Only having 1 small 1 in the box, we waited out the slow periods and hit a good one about 1pm on the "prism Coyote" spoon at 90ft on the downrigger.
Sooke River is a stream located just 1.4 miles from Sooke, in Capital Regional District, in the province of British Columbia, Canada. The crew had lots of action releasing 2 Sockeye and landing 10 Pink salmon.
